Hockey is a very patriotic sport. This was none more evident than at the recent Winter Olympics, where hometown pride was well represented by the Canadian fans as well as their cross-border rivals, USA. Given that today is Memorial Day, I thought I’d pay tribute to those who have served and are current on active duty by taking a look back at how the players themselves chose to represent their pride out there on the rink; specifically, taking a look at the goalie’s helmets.
Here’s Ryan Miller’s popular mask
Tim Thomas’s helmet – nice design work
And here we have Jonathan Quick’s helmet
Thanks to the men and women protecting our country here and overseas. And thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in upholding their promise to protect our country’s beliefs to the death. You will not be forgotten.
