Anyone that knows anything about hockey, it’s that the sport itself is probably the least political amongst any of the majors today, and it’s been that way since the end of the Cold War.
Think about it.
If you have a problem with someone out there on the rink, you either hit them, beat them up, or one of your teammates does it for you. There’s no real reason for politics on the rink, as opposed to other sports (think soccer riots between rival countries, football’s complete lack of appeal everywhere but here in America, baseball and basketball having only one Canadian team each, and so on and so on). No, when it comes to hockey, problems get solved immediately, political lines are non-existent, and the sport itself appeals to a global audience.
All of these reasons are what make hockey so great and this photo such an EPIC FAILURE, lol. Not only did this person go out of their way to try and make a political point in a politically neutral environment, but they went out of their way to try and ruin a photo-op. It’s like, really? You’re going to do politics at a hockey game?
A cheap move like this deserves to get whistled two minutes for douchebaggery.
You are the douchebag, douchebag. Do you not see Palin on the ice? If politics does not belong in hockey, then you should be mad at the dunce on the ice or the people that put her there, not the opportunity taken by fans to even the playing field. U mad at Obama bro?
